Armstrong Air gas furnaces for the Wabash Valley
Joe's Mechanical has been installing and servicing gas furnaces in the Wabash Valley for the last 25 years. We are Armstrong Air Pro-team members and proudly install Armstrong Air Gas Furnaces.
We proudly carry Armstrong furnaces but we are equipped to tackled any furnace repair or maintenance. We have been serving the Wabash Valley for 25 years and understand what our customers need to make their home or business comfortable during the winter months.
Most gas furnaces last 15 to 20 years. Replacement is usually the better value when yours is in that range and needs a major repair, when the same parts keep failing, when gas bills climb even though you use the heat the same way, or when some rooms never get warm. A cracked heat exchanger is a safety problem, and on an older furnace it usually means replacement. If your furnace is younger and one part has failed, furnace repair is usually the better spend.
AFUE tells you how much of the gas you pay for becomes heat in your home. The A97MV turns 97% of it into heat and the A802V turns 80%, with the rest going out the vent. A higher AFUE costs more up front and saves more every winter, which adds up when a Terre Haute furnace runs for months. The modulating A97MV adjusts its flame in small steps for the most even temperatures, the two-stage A962V (96%) runs on its low setting most of the time, and the A951E (95%) pairs high efficiency with a constant torque blower. We size the furnace to your home and help you weigh the options.
Joe's Mechanical knows that purchasing and installing a new gas furnace can be a big decision. We are here to help, we can help you make the right choice. We can size the unit and talk to you about what your home or business needs to stay comfortable. We can recommend the right gas furnace for you and we offer financing to help with making your comfort goals become reality. If you have questions about financing let us know.
Financing is available to qualified applicants through Service Finance, Synchrony and JB Finance, and you can apply on our financing page. A high efficiency furnace may also qualify for a utility rebate from CenterPoint Energy or Duke Energy, so ask us about current programs before you buy.
Consider replacing your furnace when it is around 15 years old, needs repairs more and more often, heats rooms unevenly or keeps pushing your gas bills up. Replacing it on your own schedule is easier than replacing it after it fails on a cold Terre Haute night. Joe's Mechanical installs Armstrong Air gas furnaces sized to each home.
Often, yes, in a heating climate like the Wabash Valley. AFUE tells you how much of the gas becomes heat: an 80% AFUE furnace such as the Armstrong Air A802V loses about a fifth, while the 97% A97MV and 96% A962V turn almost all of it into heat. The longer you stay in the home, the more that adds up.
Start with the right size and efficiency, because an oversized furnace costs more to buy and short cycles once installed. Check the current CenterPoint Energy and Duke Energy rebates, linked from the Resources menu on our site. Financing is available for qualified applicants through Service Finance, Synchrony and JB Finance, so you can spread out the cost.
Spring and early fall are usually the best times, because demand for furnace installation is lower than in the middle of winter and you are not forced to replace a failed furnace in a hurry. Planning ahead also gives you time to compare furnace models, check utility rebates and line up financing before the heating season starts.
